The core component of Tapestry’s treatment philosophy is that suffering from mental health issues is rooted in experiential avoidance. Substance use, disordered eating and isolation are examples of ways people attempt to find relief from pain and distress. We believe that mental health issues have neurological, physiological, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual implications that need to be addressed in order to successfully heal and live a meaningful life. At Tapestry, we embrace a trauma-focused, relational model with strong clinical emphasis on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), neuroscience and holistic healing modalities.
Treatment, to be successful, must provide a therapeutic environment where behavioral and intrinsic changes can occur within the context of collaborative relationships. We do not believe that one model of treatment or recovery is appropriate for everyone. Our treatment program is dedicated to understanding our clients as whole people with varied life experiences.
