The Road to Meaningful Living

Mental Health Care in Asheville, NC and Poconos, PA

Trauma-Focused Therapy

Tapestry offers a primary mental health PHP and IOP treatment program for adults ages 18 and up. This clinically integrated, trauma-focused program provides comprehensive treatment services with the goal of intrinsic change and meaningful engagement with the world.

The treatment philosophy at Tapestry is rooted in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and focuses on treatment of the whole person rather than one specific issue.

Treatment Philosophy

The core component of Tapestry’s treatment philosophy is that suffering from mental health issues is rooted in experiential avoidance. Disordered eating, substance use and isolation are examples of ways people attempt to find relief from biopsychosocial pain and distress. We believe that mental health issues have neurological, physiological, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual implications that need to be addressed.

To be successful, treatment must provide a therapeutic environment where behavioral and intrinsic changes can occur within the context of collaborative relationships. We do not believe that one model of treatment or recovery is appropriate for everyone. Our treatment program is dedicated to understanding our clients as whole people with varied life experiences.

For a confidential consultation about mental health or other behavioral health issues, call Tapestry today at (828) 490-4032. You can find us in North Carolina in Asheville, Brevard and Fletcher, as well as in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Comprehensive Care for Lasting Healing

Our multidisciplinary team is made up of doctors, psychiatrists, nurses and other licensed specialists. This comprehensive offering includes family programming, individual and group therapy, medication management as needed and extended aftercare services.

Psychoeducational Groups

The purpose of psychoeducational groups is to advance our understanding of key therapeutic concepts. Oftentimes, we need an intellectual understanding of our process before we can reach an emotional understanding. Meaningful psychoeducational groups provide us with the opportunity to obtain knowledge about parts of our struggle and development in a way that enhances our ability to achieve therapeutic change.

The psychoeducational groups at Tapestry are focused on these core areas:

  • Value and self-direction
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Gratitude
  • Body image
  • Neuroscience of addiction
  • Nutrition education
  • Self-acceptance & identity
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Trauma & attachment
  • Life skills
