Inviting Goodness Into Your Life (Each And Every Day)

I came across this photo and really paused and acknowledged in for a while.

The colors stood out to me- the words appear to be bathed in light, warmth, hope, and joy. They are vibrant. If you look closely you can make out the brushstrokes within the painting. I invite you to pause to notice the little miracles in your day, every day.

I have been addressing grief lately as it is something I am purposefully making space for in my life. Grief is an interesting thing, I find it impossible to comprehend even to this day; but I am finding peace in letting that be okay. It is what it is, and it doesn’t need to make sense right now.

A friend of mine encouraged writing a gratitude list every day of 3 things I am grateful for, and I have begun doing so. This is a simple, yet incredibly effective reminder that there is always hope, miracles, blessings, love, joy, peace, among hurt, pain, sadness, grief, etc.

I find that in some ways grief is a lot like walking the road of recovery. Many times when you are in the journey, when you are battling your eating disorder and feel completely overwhelmed, distraught, and question whether recovery is even worth it—remember that it is.

It also doesn’t have to make sense, it doesn’t (and often won’t) feel comfortable, or even okay (especially in the beginning); but this is when you need to hold on to hope, and focus on those little blessings in your life that bring you hope, peace, joy, that inspire you and invite you towards a far, far better life than one in an illness and misery.

I invite you to practice pausing throughout your day and acknowledging things you are grateful for. See how this feels as you do so.

With love and warmth,
Vanessa
